Job Purpose
Hugenote Kollege, situated in Wellington, is a private Christian post-school training institution offering training in the social services sector as well as Theology and ministry. The College has a vacancy for an Bookkeeper: Debtors Administration who will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable function at Hugenote Kollege. This position is a demanding role, requiring a candidate who has proper understanding and experience in the debtor’s processing.
To succeed in this role, we are seeking someone who is extremely detail oriented, has proper knowledge of Pastel Accounting software, understands ledger entries and is a smooth client negotiator to ensure the debtor’s book is always recovered.

Minimum Requirements

  • Post-school qualification in bookkeeping or other relevant field;
  • 5-6 years’ experience in debtor management;
  • Resilient and confident in debtor management;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver timely results within a time constrained and challenging environment;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Fluent in Afrikaans and English;
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
  • Self – starter with ability to work independently and in a team;
  • Relevant Accounts Receivable experience.



  • Debtors management (over 2000 debtors):
  • Real time resolution client disputes or credits;
  • Customer statements and weekly cash flow forecasting
  • Reconciliation of invoices generated;
  • Full management and implementation of the debtor recovery process including account suspensions and or legal handover;
  • Debtors age analysis must be within agreed terms;
  • Maintenance of a proper filing and administration system;
  • Other finance tasks as deemed necessary;
  • Relevant Accounts Receivable experience.
